Bully Dog WatchDog... any good?

Hey all,

Well I'm in the process of attempting to put my gauges in. Not goin' so good but, whatever.

Anyway, while looking through XDP's website I saw Bully Dog Watchdog for a pretty decent price. I then went to Amazon and saw it for $212 shipped. That's a pretty good deal on a monitor, PLUS the driving coach!

Anyway I was originally looking at getting the SCT Livewire to use as my programmer and monitor, but I think I could go cheaper with the WatchDog and a SF3.

What do you guys think about it? Anyone have one? I really like how it can mount on my A-Pillar with my other gauges! That's practically the selling point for me.

Nope.

Elm327 + Torque Pro + any Smart phone or tablet = exact same thing total investment less than $25.00 not including the phone.

Seems like a decent monitor. I considered running this monitor myself. I had an older Bully dog monitor on my 6.0 and it worked good.

As far as the bluetooth dongle/APP deal, I, personally am not a fan of that setup, I know a lot of people run it and love it, but I use my Bluetooth connection for a headset while driving so, that's out for me.

When I ran my bullydog I like the monitor. That said you need to read the fine print. Its 212 for the monitor and the another 150ish for the egt probe kit.

looks like the size is deceptive ?

also I might just save a few more bucks for a Insight CS or CST
and get mileage coach / performance test /maintenance manager
and an easy to read touch screen

You should also contact BD about what parameters it can monitor for the 6.0. IIRC, it doesn't do any of the 3 FICM PID's.

Just looking at the BD website at the Watchdog, it only does 21 PID's, that's half the amount of PID'S that you can watch with DashBoss, Scangauge, Torque, and Edge CS/CTS.

You get what you pay for!

I run a mini max for gauges because I didn't research before I bought my tuner, and sct for tunes via the sctx3 . I am sure the watch dog and mini max are the same platform / monitor . I don't mind it for the 6.0l , it shows most things but not ficm info and that bothers me . it shows icp in volts ? any one know what that means ? if I had to do it over I would have just bought the sct touch screen or something like dps new tuner hope this helps

The ICP is a 0-5v pressure sensor. It reads the high pressure oil leaving the HPOP.
