Edge Juice platinum w/attitude

I have a 06' Super Duty that got 17 mpg when I bought it new. Less than a year later it had a recall and Ford had to re-set the PCM perimeters (California smog bull crap) now it gets about 9 mpg!!

I have talked to Ford a few times about it,saying that its BS to pay $45,000 for a vehicle and have it get this kind of mileage. They basically told me there is nothing they will do for me and suggested I get a chip to get better MPG.

So I am thinking about a chip or a programmer...I just don't know anything about them..I just want to get my mileage back to stock or possibly better.

Any suggestions on which ones to get would be appreciated...I dont want to spend the $$ for a chip or programmer and have it not make my mileage any better...

I like all of the features the juice/attitude has to offer...

Providing I can leave it on setting 1 and not drive it like I stole it would my mileage go back to what it was stock?

8 MPG with diesel at $4.10 a gallon is killing me!

I would aprecciate any input y'all could give me...

Hes actually asking what he can do as far as programmers and such to gain his mileage back. He is asking in the right place, since his post asks about performance parts.

To the original poster i would look into an SCT X3 with custom tuning. One of the vendors should be able to help you out

I agree with the previous posters. I see my best mpg with my hotter tunes as long as I can keep my foot out of it. The SCT is tuned for your specific truck and what you want out of it such as towing, race, economy, street. There are several vendors on the site that offer this service and they are more than willing to take good care of you in this matter. You can't go wrong with any of them. Good luck in your search for better milage.

Thank you all for the info..

Sounds like the SCT is better than the edge.. I new to deisels and dont know much about them so I am gathering alot of usefull info from this site.

Is the SCT and livewire the same thing? I like the idea of having the guage cluster that the livewire has I would just have to add the EGT guage to it...

Thanks Dave, I am now considering the X3 to try and get me back to the MPG I was getting before Ford and CA screwed me over..

I know I need a EGT gauge...what gauge and mounting options work good and are easy on my check book? Do I really need a boost gauge as well? I'm not wanting to race my truck.just looking for more MPG.
