Injector/turbo pairing question....

I'm thinking of getting some 175/stock sticks from renegade diesel for my truck in the near future...

Now my question is.... how do you think a powermax turbo would do with these injectors? To smokey? Or do you think it would clean them up ok at WOT?

If a PM is too small, I'm guessing my next step would be a MTW, but which one? The reason I'm thinking PM is because i like the price, no core, and less lead time than MTW.

Once i do mate the right turbo with the sticks, what kind of realistic RWHP/RWTQ numbers should i see?

Sorry for all the questions but i wanna do it right from the start....

Thanks!

I would go with the MTW hybrid, 170's would be great with that turbo. I believe it is worth the wait. Do your homework and make sure you make an informed decision. You should be able to put down an easy 500rwhp and possibly 550 rwhp with a good running truck and the right tuning. Of course that's with the MTW.

So it looks like i wasn't out of line thinking a powermax would be ok for 175/stock. I was just worried it would be to small...

A Powermax with 175's should be fine. Your EGT's will still get hot under WOT, but they will do that with a MTW Hybrid too. If you don't believe 175/stock is capable of 550 just look at a couple trucks. Bill at PHP made like 520 something on 175/stock injectors and a stock turbo. I don't think it's out of line to think a Powermax would be good for a 30hp gain. Also, Bryan (Tuscany) laid down over 550 with 175's. Granted they wasn't stock nozzles but its been disputed in many threads that the nozzles are only good for a few hp gain.

A powermax with the factory cast wheel won't make anymore power (that is worth mentioning) over the stock turbo with stock injectors. A billet wheel added in is a different story, but I have yet to hear/see of anyone who only stuck a Pmax on their truck, and ran faster track times, pulled more HP on a dyno, or anything with stock injectors.

C'mon guys, review these threads as opposed to starting repetitive threads about the same subject.

MTW stage 1 VS Powermax and turbo info:::

have to ask... again, powermax vs MTW stage1

Powermax lag?

C'mon guys, review these threads as opposed to starting repetitive threads about the same subject.

Just to be fair, I think it's also worth mentioning that my truck didn't run any faster track times when I installed the Hybrid with Batmowheel than it did with the stock turbo. As a matter of fact it slowed down a little.
