pic inside - tie rod

got this in the mail today and noticed the boot is torn. The reason I post this is because someone told me it does not matter. I was going to send it back for another one, just mad I have to wait to do this project.

This is the right side (pitman arm --> steering arm)

what do you guys think, send it back, or its fine the way it is?

I would send back. That will allow water in and grease out. Either that or go to the part store and get a replacement boot.

Yup. They should replace it or at least give you a new boot. If not spend the $2 for a new boot and move on.

It appears the inner seal (Silver Part) is bent too and a new boot might not seat correctly.

I'd return it.
