what will make me go fast

Hey all.

I have a 2005 6.0L and I have the airaid airbox, 4" exhaust pipe, and Edge power chip.

The edge power chip is very nice but I feel and heard that there is much better and more power chips/tuners/whatever out there.

Now I have heard of this SCT performance thing...what is it?

can someone explain to me what will make my truck more beastly?

Thanks

There are lots of different options (from what I've heard) so I'll bump this up for ya so it's seen and you can get some great opinions to help you out.

A "tune" is a tuning file in a programmer. 99% of what we sell for 6.0l is the Custom SCT from Innovative Diesel. It is by far the best product for a 6.0l. You can not change files on the fly, it is a hand held programmer. It will give you the best hp gains, and will tune your transmission to handle the extra power unlike the Edge Juice module.

The SCT is a flash tuner. This means that it installs a different program into your PCM. The Edge Juice simply intercepts and modifies signals sent to and from the PCM. A "tune" would be one of the custom programs that get's flashed into your PCM. With custome tuning the options are virtually limitless. You can have economy, street, race, extreme race, towing and so on. They can even program the turbo to act as a pretty effective exhaust brake on your towing program.

SCT programs usually range anywhere from 40 to 160 additional hp at the rear wheels. I believe the Juice claims 115 and in the 6.0 tuner shootout they came up short of that. Custom tuning can also be tailored to water/meth injection, nitrous and bigger turbo/injectors. SCT also fully controls the transmission which no other form of tuning can do. That is why a 5R110 will survive 500 rwhp with custom tuning and sometimes fail at 400 rwhp or less with the module type tuners.

Once you get custom tuning you will want to smash that Juice with a rock!

I would purchase directly from Innovative Diesel but it's a few dollars cheaper from Discount Power Parts and you will get the same service and tuning. DPP is also a site sponsor here.
