Time for upgrades

I am starting my next project replacing the Oil cooler, EGR Cooler , and FICM next weekend when I get my parts. I am also going to add the Sinister Coolant Filter as well.

What coolant should I get and how much? Also what other extra parts and/or gaskets will I need when I tackle this project. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Are you flushing it as well? Be fooliish not to. 30 gallons of distilled water 4 gallons of ELC concentrate. Napa sells Zerex under part # ZXED1. If it isn't on the shelf they can have it next day sometimes same day.

I use Zerex! The coolant system takes about 7 gallons of coolant.

Tom, it is gallons total capacity. 4 gallons of concentrate mixed with the 2-3 gallons of water still retained in the system after draining.

I finally got around to doing some work to the truck about a month ago. I did the BPD egr cooler, oem oil cooler, Cat Rated coolant and BPD FICM, and Sinister filter. Today driving home from a funeral I noticed when leaving stop signs and stop lights I was getting puffs of white smoke. I got home and looked at the coolant. I have lost some at some point. Could my problem be my coolant filter not being changed within the inital 500 miles or another problem? I haven't noticed any power loss but then again I haven't been running the hell out of. Any feedback will be great.

Sounds like Egr is leaking coolant into exhaust. Park the truck nose pointed down and pull the Egr valve and check for coolant.

So it could just be an egr valve? Is there an easy fic with that or have to buy a new one if thats what it is?

Not necessarily. If there is coolant your egr cooler is bad.
