Programmer Recomenations

This past weekend i talked to a guy who had a truck like mine and he said he had a edge programmer on his truck and it bumped his mileage to around 20. He said he left it on the lowest setting. Anyway that got my attension, so im wondering what you guys think is a good programmer. Im not looking for a lot of HP, i just want better fuel economy and maybe some power increase. I dont want anything that could ever damage the truck. So what do you guys think, and if you have one for sale let me know.

An SCT with custom tunes... DJs Economy tune bumps my truck with a lift and 35s to around 19 or so at 62mph bout 2-3mpgs better than stock...and it defenitly wakes up the truck too!!

How does that work "SCT with DJ's Economy Tune" i thought they came ready to program the truck.

You buy an SCT form Djs..(Site vendor) and then they will custom tune for your just your truck... its really easy.. Just give them a call and tell them what ya want

+ 1 more for SCT.... i would go Eric at innovative, Dj's or Dfusers tunes.....

they dont come already programmed... basically it gets sent to you, you plut it in and get your strategy off your truck and email that to whoever your getting your tunes from and download it to the SCT via a USB cable... then you load them into your truck

It's just my opinion, but I'm happy with Superchips Flashpaq. Its simple and relatively cheap. Most people never really talk about them on most forums. To each their own, but you can pick one up for under $400. One good thing about it, on the 3 programs that come with it, you don't have to have any extra gauges like a pyro. I saw an increase in both power and mpgs.

With ANY aftermarket performance enhancer you should have external gauges. Especially a canned tuned one. They are a generic program and react differently depending on your strategy. Even stock truck who haul trailers like to have ones to watch their temps usually, EGTs and Trans.

With any enhancer, it is a good thing to run gauges to be on the safe side to make sure you don't burn or blow anything up.

And I think a couple of site vendors are running package specials on the SCTs for the same price, maybe even a little better with custom tunes included.
