installed my ported intake
so i finally got around to installing my ported intake i picked up from Oliver, odawg714 (thanks alot buddy). first impressions of the intake were that it looks very well done. the cuts are straight, welds are very nice and from what i can see of the inside it looks very opened up. for the price i couldnt pass it up, especially for the amount of work that goes into them.
i did this mod for a couple of reasons: to lower egts, increase air to the rear cylinders and hopefully add a little power. my truck isnt a race truck or anything so im sure there are ones that may flow a little more but for my purposes it is exactly what i wanted. so far it has done all of the above. i have only drive the truck a little since the install yesterday but so far i have noticed that cruising egts at 70 have dropped about 40-50 degrees, spool is almost instant and mid range power has increased (see sig for rest of mods). i have never had my truck or a dyno so i cant say for sure how much of an increase or where but i can definitely feel it in the mid range.
im taking a nice 3-4 hour trip this weekend so ill report back with any other findings: egt's, mpg, top end ect... ill also post some pics of it installed later on
