Cut open my coolant filter

Well everyone after having my coolant filter on like 2 k miles I seen my deltas rising so I was like ok let's change my coolant filter and cut it open. Here is what I found





Guess these things work huh lol

04 harley davidson f-250 arp headstuds oem gaskets,sb intake,edge cts egt probe,sct sf3 idp tuned/ php tuned,blue spring,zerex coolant swap,mbrp 5 inch xdp 6 inch tip,sinister egr cooler,new oem oil cooler,atlas 40 ficm,Painted cac tubes 7.3l wire loom,Diesel site coolant filter

Lmao I can't believe how much was In there they should come stock with a coolant filter

That's not bad I've seen some with filters clogged with gunk

My first cleaning resulted in an 1/8" paste / grit in a 5 gal bucket, filter was almost half full.

you did it rather early at 2k miles i did mine in the order of 5k 10k 15k 1 every 25k but the filters are cheap so why not change it whenever you want lol but you still had some good room in there

exactly I could probably go over a year but sometimes I just get curious
and since it's a bypass (most styles) and fluid would rather take the path of least resistance
any blockage could result in less filtration
so for 13 bucks I probably do mine 3 - 4 times a year

I also cut open the filter media and rinse it into a bucket to see whats trapped

i never even cut mine open im honestly to lazy i know it traps tons of stuff cause if i flip it grit comes spilling out so i know it does its job.

Early 99 engine, billet low stall converter, rebuilt trans, all new uvch, new belt tensioners and idler pulley, rebuilt injectors, all new icp, idm, cps, hutch mod, k&n intake, white valve covers, wicked wheel, 5 inch exhaust, php hydra chip 15pos, 8" superlift, 20 inch black and machined rims, 2" billet spacers, 37/13.50r20 toyo open country tires, rough country dual stabilizer, 05 front end with 10k hid lights, amber led cab lights, 09 ford van bucket seats, 2010 f150 center console, b&m ratchet shifter, aero force scan gauge, b&m trans cooler used as a fuel cooler,
