EGR question

Ok guys, here's a question for you. I just had the head gaskets replaced on my truck about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I had ARP head studs installed and an EGR block off plate. I just reinstalled my Banks 6 Gun and it is setting a P0401, egr recirculation code. It doesn't seem to be affecting the chip or performance of the truck, but not sure if I should be concerned or not. I can't shut the EGR off with the 6 Gun like you can with the SCT, but I have always had Banks and been happy with the way it works. Appreciate any info.

The 6gun doesn't turn off the EGR and with the block off...it is goin to throw that code constantly. Not sure if it will be a major concern or not.

Not sure. I would if someone has done it before and it works. I assume it would still set the code with it being disconnected though.

if you put the egr delete in place , then you will always get that code , unplugging will make no difference , except for will throw more codes out, that will not hurt anything , would not worry about it

Ok. I appreciate it. I am probably going to buy an SCT later since everyone that I have seen on here has nothing bad to say about them. I have seen a couple of trucks with them that had custom tunes and they started puking antifreeze out of the overflow. Not sure if that was due to EGR cooler or not. If it was then I won't worry about it since mine is blocked off. Let me know if that is the case. Appreciate all the info. This sight is awesome.

Yep, that's the exact reason those trucks were puking. Since yours is blocked off, you shouldn't have problems.

Sweet. I will probably sell the 6 Gun and replace it with the SCT. I would like some info on what kind of custom tunes you can get and what knid of extra power you get with the looney tune. I use mine as a daily driver but would like to race it some and have even thought about hooking it to a sled just to see what it will do.
