Advantages of matched intake and exhaust?

I'm looking into my first mods on my '03. I suppose this is a question more for manufacturers than average owners.

Does it make more sense to match the intake and exhaust to the same company?

Do you think AFE actually tests their equipment end to end? Or do they just outsource it to the lowest cost bidder for design and development, assuming each part can stand on its own?

I'm looking at AFE intake and downpipe to tailpipe exhaust. I was looking at some Banks stuff, but from their own ads in Diesel Power, the AFE is 95% as free flowing, and 50% cheaper.

I can't delete the cat/muffler due to my states' draconian emissions laws.
Thanks.

P.S. I used search and couldn't find any posts on this topic. Feel free to redirect if this is an old discussion.

Matching the companies of aftermarket parts really does not matter.

I think you would find out that most exhaust comes from the same company but sold by many different distributors.

I suspect two factories in china make all of the aftermarket parts, it's just a matter of which sticker they slap on it before shipping.
