SCT & torque converter.

Does the SCT have the ability to set torque converter lock up points? I am wondering if any one has a Looney tune with these parameters. If not, does anyone have opinions on the TS Performance torque converter Lock up?
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, the SCT XCal can have the TC locked when you want it....talk to your tuner about changing the points.

Have you done it? Do you reccommend it? Is it safe with a looney tune? Thanks again DKR.

Eric does my tuning and I have tried to learn how, but he does so much I got lost and gave up!

I know my race file has TC lock up at a certain gear, off the top of my head I dont remember where.

As far as the Looney, I have never ran that file, so I am not sure if it would help or be OK.

I really haven't answered much, sorry for that! Best bet I would say is get ahold of Vivian when she is available and talk it over with her.

elite diesel can do it, i have read it on their site. they consider it an option to the reg tune also with EGR delete and other stuff.

Thanks guys. I'll try and reach Vivian tommorrow. I like to get as much info as I can before I call her. They are always so busy, I just want to know what I'm going to be asking for.
Thanks again.

For some reason DJ doesn't like to lock the converter. Most SCT tuners lock the converter in gears 2-5 on the race tunes. Your tuner can set it up any way you would like.

720Deere is correct. Call DJ and discuss his opinion of TC lock-up. Other tuners do favor doing this so I guess it is a matter of what each tuner has experienced.

I need to have mine locked in 4th and 5th or I might as well be driving a stock truck. When spring and summer roll around I'll probably run a race tune daily. IMO, get a tune with it locked in 4th and 5th and 2nd-5th. Some like it some don't. DKR likes to run his race tune daily I believe....as for me....well, I guess I gotta give it another shot.

I actually run a hopped up XStreet file, almost like my Race, slightly differen shift points.

But I do know several members who run a race file daily!
