Help with older Xcalibrator SCT tuner

So I have an older Xcalibrator SCT tuner that came with my truck. Has basic directions of how to change tunes. Put it in the "street" mode and it definetly adds pep. Could use a little more explination on the difference between "tow" and "towbrake" modes. Also any other info would be gladly accepted.

Thanks

Brian, I would imagine that the tow tune is just that and the tow brake tune is a tow tune with a jake brake added. On my tow tune that I got from MPT I use the tow/haul button to activate the jake brake which uses the turbo to slow the truck/engine down. It really works! Yours might be on without having to use the tow/haul button. You could always call SCT they would have a definite answer.

Best advice I can give you is get rid of it and get a newer device that allows you to add custom tunes.

I agree I don't think that SCT even supports that anymore. The tunes in that version I believe are per-programmed and cannot be changed by the end user.

Yeah proboably just stick with it for now. We'll find out in a couple weeks which of the two tow tunes work the best. Don't use the street mode much as it brings down the fuel milage. I was just lookin to maybe get a tune to boost fuel economy.

Thanks all.
