It's my first Ford Diesel.. And getting discouraged

I am hoping someone can help me.. I have a 2005 Ford F350 w/6.0 diesel. It is not wanting to start.. doesn't crank at all. You turn the key & nothing... after a little it shows "check guages" on the cluster & the wrench shows up. Any advice would be wonderful.

When you say it doesn't crank you mean that the engine won't roll over? Or that it won't fire?

Have you checked all the fuses and fusible links? Also check and make sure batteries are charged and good.
