ficm tuning questions

well ive read about all i can read from stickies and php's website about strategy rollback and what not, but it seems the more i read the more i confuse myself anyway, if i were to get the ficm tuner from php, would it change the strategy and do the tune? or just a tune and no strategy change? also, who do ya'll recommend for tuning, php or innovative? thanks all in advance

from what I understand, if you get the gryphon programmer, it can only do one of those things at a time......strategy change or FICM tune......so what seems to be the best option is guys buy the programmer, roll back their strategy, then change it to a FICM tuner and you're home free. You shouldn't need to change your strategy more than once, and it gives you the flexibility of more FICM options

There is only the Gryphon tuner from PHP. Get the FICM tuner. to do the roll back you hook the tuner to your PC and connect to the Internet. Bill from PHP configures the tuner to do the roll back. You take the tuner, plug it into the OBDII port and do the roll back, the hook it back to the PC and Bill re-configures it as a FICM tuner again.

Forget about IDP FICM tunes.

Or you can send the PCM and FICM to Bill and let him do the rollback and tune on the bench. It takes about an hour on the phone with Bill to do it in the truck and coordinating that can be tough sometimes.

You dont need to rollback unless you drive around in a stock tuned truck all day. If you run custom tunes the tune writer more than likely change the strategy to a better one.

Everything I have read always said to use FICM tunes from the same guys you use your regular SCT tunes from. Though, even though I use a lot of Innovative custom tunes, I am going with the PHP simply to get the gryphon.
