exhaust question

A guy nearby is selling a 5 inch exhaust that I'm looking at getting. I do need a down pipe for it though. Should I go with stock, 3.5, or 4 inch. What pro and cons for all. My biggest concern is looking to help out with MPG, then power, and then egts.

Fairly stock. I have an afe intake, sct ( not custom tunes yet), but its studded, deleted and coolant filter. Just deciding on exhaust now. I don't plan on doing much more except for some custom tuning small odds n ins

Ya I bought it. Looks like it had a 2 piece 3.5 inch down pipe but the top half was cut off lol. Any ideas if I can just purchase the top half of the dp? Looks like it may be an mbrp as it has a mbrp muffler
