Tuner Questions

Ok guys Im new to the 6.0 world. I have done alot of reading and I already know that everybody is going to write in and recommend the sct tuner. My question is this though. Lets say just for money purposes and simply knowing that I wont ever run a wild tune that I just buy a PPE tuner. Will the PPE tunes shut off the egr? Or do you have to have a custom tune in order to do that with any tuner?

Who the Heck runs a PPE tuner? There's a good reason why everybody recommends SCT.

I'm pretty sure the generic plug and play programs don't do anything to EGR. If you go that route (he probably got given one) than there are other ways to turn off EGR. You could search, but basically you just unplug the valve when your truck is cold and off. Like said above, the SCT is a wise investment learned the hard way by many - by hard I mean expensive.

I just picked up an SCT and absolutely love it. I have messed with Banks and Edge chips before and SCT is definitely the way to go.... JMO
