What exhaust to pass inspection?

Looking at putting an exhaust system on but was wondering what y'all are going with to pass inspection. Here in texas we don't have smog, as long as your not in one of the bigger cities, but usually they look to see if you have a muffler. What's a good system with a high flow muffler?

Thanks

Straight pipe that baby from the turbo back. You will love the sound of the turbo, and the truck is still quiet unless you're smashing the skinny.

Sorry I just reread your post... I get excited sometimes. As far as a good flowing muffler I couldn't say. Sorry again

No problem. I would love to straight pipe it but then I have to track someone down to pass it and don't always have that option. What exhaust and tip do you have?

I got the diamond eye 4" turbo back built to keep the cat with muffler. I also got the cat delete pipe, but now I can just stick the cat back in if I need it for inspection. The muffler is straight through with no restriction.

I've rarely known any Texas inspection station to look for a muffler.
TECHNICALLY you're supposed to have your EGR, DOC, and muffler. The EGR and DOC because of federal standards.
Now, in Texas, supposedly the turbo counts as a muffler. Basically it's worded, or use to be, anything with baffles or something like that between motor and exhaust exit is a muffler. Try arguing it
For me, I got a Walker Big Truck Muffler. 65 bucks for my 3.5" one.

4 inch turbo back magnaflow to a 6 inch tip. Cat delete. Almost all diesel aftermarket exhaust are flow through mufflers. Meaning they don't restrict flow.

From my experince the Tx inspectors just take your truck for a spin, check the lights, window tint, and look under the hood. I installed a 5" kit, gutted the cat and passed inspection with flying colors. My wifes bone stock G6 with tinted windows had to go 3 different shops before it passed. The inspector flat out told me there are certain items like tinted windows and stupidly loud gassers that wouldnt pass and straight piped diesels where fine.

As far as mufflers that come with aftermarket kits, most them are some sort of flowthrough glass pack.
