very strange running problem:::

This is very strange but I wanted to share. I reprogramed my FICM back to stock using PHP tuner. I removed relays and did all by the book, fired truck up and off I went. Truck ran really good, drove around for 2 hour trip, then later tried to do a run on it and blew a hose, so I limped back home. Next day I replaced the clamp and that was it, got ready to use the truck for running around truck. Got in trick started it and idled good, put truck in drive and gave it gas, and nothing. CTS was reading pedal position, but the truck would not rev, stuck it in park and truck reved fine stuck back in gear and nothing. I was scratching my head and the wife was on me, so I called Dale and asked him about it and if he ever saw it before. He told me to check for codes, and I felt like a a** I should have before calling him. Well I had a code that said FICM communication failure, so Dale said try to program the ECM stock so I did, and then truck ran fine. Put the performance tune back on and everything was good again. Very strange, can't explain it at all.

Adrian I had the same thing happen to me(not with the ficm tuning) but I was working on my truck and it sat for 3 weeks of so- batteries died, recharged them and ran the truck. Took off just like you had done, and bam truck just died, than would crank for 6-8 seconds and would not start. Recycled key again and truck started right up and has been runnin like a charm ever since(this happened 4- 5 months ago). I think I may have even pm'd Dale on the issue as well.. Unsolved mysteries lol

The ficm communication code is always there after programming the ficm. At least for a few key cycles then goes away, it will go away automatically if you clear it. Normal. You have an issue somewhere I would think, but if it only happens once I wouldn't worry about it.
