Got some new parts to complete the bulletproofing (3 vendor commentaries included)

So, I've been looking for a few more parts to complete the bulletproofing of the truck in the signature. When this truck was studded, the turbo boots were suggested for replacement, but was too costly to do at the time.

Two weeks ago, I started looking for the needed parts:
- Blue spring kit
- fuel pressure sensor, adaptor, & harness for my CTS
- upgrade metal CAC tube and boot kit (I went with AFE due to price)

I checked locally (Canada) and found prices of these items were about 50% more than US sourced items, so that would have blown my budget.

I found a seller of the AFT CAC tube for $149 on ebay (SoCal Performance), contacted him and he was going to look into the other parts I needed. Then, over the weekend, he upped his ebay price and would not return my messages. Apparently this was due to a shortage of the CAC tube since it had just gone on backorder at AFE.

I found Alligator Performance (from their internet ads) and asked them to give me a quote. When I didn't hear from them for 4 business days, I found Dale's Super Store (Billet Grilles) had the parts, and I was able to get them on the phone. They matched the best sale price I had seen for the CAC tube, and had good prices on the other parts also. Alligator did eventually get back to me with a competitive estimate by e-mail, but I had already given up on them and gone with Dale's.

i ordered from Dale's and got my stuff pretty quickly (6 days from FL to B.C. Canada). Also, Dale's offered to ship it for $40 by USPS, but when I got the box, I saw that it had actually cost them $85! So, thanks to Dale's for looking after me. I also had to pay about $35 in local tax when I picked up the stuff, but it ended up being several hundred cheaper than buying it locally.

Now, I have to wait for a chance for the rain to ease up and get them in!

I'm over on the island and I'm lucky enough to have a friend in Oregon. I have gotten a ton shipped to him lately and he then sends it north. Yup, you're right, you save big it's just that you have to wait so dang long to get the parcels. Wonder if their budget cut backs are going to increase the customs wait time??
