Straight piped and resonator tip?

Ok I have an 04 6.0 with no cat and just straight piped the muffler. Awesome jet sound! I picked up a cheap stainless resonated tip (3.5 to 4.5") and I think I lost some of the jet sound. Any one else try this and also not sure the power is the same as it was with the muffler. I do have an EGR block and a super chips on performance tune. Any thought's?

Straight piped and resonator tip?

Resonator tips have packing inside of them which deaden the whistle. Remove the tip and add a regular tip to regain the whistle.

i have done exhaust on many different truck and cars there is no way a tip will act like a muffler and i also highly doubt a tip will resonate the sound that much if at all. in a diesel ur not worried bout back pressure like a car no need for the muffler ur not loseing any power if anything your helping the egts

Hints why he lost "some" of the jet sound.

Define "some"
