Nothing sounds like an 03 turbo, even a Powermax.

Is powermax better?

Will it even come close to the same amount of whistle?

Mad stage one built with your 03 turbine wheel would be a nice set up. That way you still get the whistle and a bigger compressor wheel.

Yes you will. Stock compressor wheel is 58mm x 82mm. Stage one and powermax are 63.5mm x 88mm. Power max uses dual plane wheel and mtw uses single plane wheel.

But you can't tell a difference between stage one and powermax?

I have personally had no experience with either of these turbos. I would think that you would notice alittle more with the mtw because if the single plane. Single plane will out flow dual planes

I believe that it will be doubtful that the OP will be able to tell a difference in power between a Pmax and a Stage 1 with an 03 turbine housing and wheel. Now perhaps if he had a billet wheeled Stage 1 there would be a difference, but the main reason he wont be able to tell much is because the stock injectors are already pretty much tapped out in the fuel delivery and in his case both turbos are going to be flowing more air than a stocker would so they both should give reasonable gains. I think the main reason for considering a Stage 1 over a Pmax would be cost and possibly slight performance advantage.
