Why SCT?

After much reading I am asking the question, What makes the SCT so good? I have read that the SCT can tune the transmission, but is that really what makes it so good? Thanks.

The company was started by a Ford engineer that had very good, or complete knowledge of the PCM/TCM/BCM and FICM for many of the Ford models. Most of the units had been sold to Mustang users to squeeze out modest gains. When it included diesel owners, the power went up significantly. It didn't take too long before a few bought the Advantage software and started writing even high HP tunes. Some worked, but others were slightly off the mark and created issues for owners. Of course, some of the issues created may have been influenced or exacerbated by other problems that we now know all about. There had been hope that other companies dealing with GM and Dodge could put together a similar tune writing program for the masses, but for the 6.0, it never got out of the developmental stage.
