SCT program?

I was just looking through the custom optins on my SCT tuner the other day. It looks like there is a option to disable the egr system, and exhaust brake.
i did not try these parameters when i was looking through the custom options on this tuner. has anybody tried either of these parameters? it is tempting to try these, but i thought i would ask befoe i mess something up.

I have never messed with my SCT like that. I live in the awesome state of Ca so I have to keep an EGR on my truck. I dont think that turning it off in the computer stops it from actually working. I could be wrong though

i believe ( if it works like a cummins ) it actually programs the operating function of the egr to zero, thus not allowing it function.

Once you do the EGR delete, it will pop a CEL on your truck and that setting will turn it off.

Not sure on if it actually disables the EGR to zero or just shuts off the EGR. Doing the delete is still prob your best bet.

yes it does disable the EGR system from fuctioning. it does the same thing a custom tune does in that reguards. I also have a egr system but have it disabled in my tunes. I have heard the newer SCT updated tunes have disabled this feature but I haven't seen this yet to state that for fact...

Also if you have an 05 or newer and need the egr system I would look at an 04 uppipe with out the scoop. it helps with spooling even and even more with the egr disabled. I have used this with the lastest for flash and it doesn't cause an cel issue for flow.

Up pipe differences
