I'd get the Atlas 40. And if you could swing the extra money. Get a BPD FICM.

I've heard nothing but good about ficm repair (Ed) but a repair and ficm tune is going to cost the same as a bulletproof deisel 4 phase, the bpd ficm is much better than a repaired or even brand new oem ficm.

This is very true. You could always add a tune later.

I did an exchange with Ed at ficm repair and have no regrets. I had him add the atlas 40 before it was shipped and it was worth the money. That said, my EGTs rise pretty quick towing 7000lbs with the atlas 40. If I were towing heavier I would consider the tune under the atlas 40, IIRC the economy tune??

You should be able to tow what ever you want with the Atlas 40. Yes with the weight you pull. Go 40.

Yes you should. Don't know if you have gauges or not. But just keep a eye on your egt's.
