Need Some Help!!!

Hello, I recently bought a 2005 F-250 6.0L Super Duty 4x4. The truck is a daily driver but I want to wake er' up alil. I have looked all over the web for ideas but I figure its best to come here and ask people who have been here! I know that I need to get the EGR delete and the work with the oil cooler. Im not sure of all the details with them, just know they need done! I talked to a mechanic that was a "Bulletproof" expert and was told it would cost me $9,000 for him to do the Head Studs, EGR cooler, EGR block off, Oil cooler upgrade, and bypass the oil filter. That seems rather high to me?!?! But here are some questions I have.

1. Do I need to have all of that done in order to do any sort of tuning?
2. Which tune do you recomend? (SCT, BANKS, BULLYDOG, ETC)
3. What about an exhaust?
4. Tranny upgrades if im under 500HP
