SCT Advantage III Ford Pro Racer Software - PN: 4332
SCT Performance - SCT Advantage III Ford Pro Racer Software**Part Number: 4332
Has anyone tried this? Does it work for our trucks? Reviews? Can you write tunes for anyone? $350 to write your own tunes. Maybe $5000 for a new motor

Just ordered it to try out. As far as I understand this one is for your vehicle and is locked to your truck. The corporate one that all the tuners use is much more expensive and complex.

Yea I saw the dealer package but didn't check a price. Please keep me updated as to how you make out and if you like it or not.

I definetly will. I asume the learing curve will be fun. From all the lurking I have done on the Mustang fourms it seems like SCT wont even let you buy more liceses if you have more than one vehicle to tune. You have to have the pro pack or just buy a program for every vehicle you own. If this goes good I am going to look into the pro stuff.

Thats what i want to do, Ive thought hard about going down to fla. for there school. Im very interested in writing some tunes for my truck. But I would love to be able to get a couple solid tunes down and start sending out emails, while watching my pay pal get fat

You have to make a number of tunes before the cost/benefit for yourself works out, but if you enjoy playing and learning, go for it. You might want to get a PID data-logger so you can get an idea of what you need to get the results you want. Unless you have access to multiple vehicle configurations, it would be tough to make the jump to the unlocked package. The established tuners had it a lot easier since most of the trucks were pretty much stock. Of course, now they have some street cred, even if some don't have much experience with the new variables.
One thing to keep in mind when you get your kit, stock runs very mild start of injection -2 to 3* BTDC and relatively small fuel tables (PW to about max 1.6). Mid tunes SOIs of about 6* BTDC and PW up to 2. Wild tunes SOI of 11-13* BTDC and PWs of 2.7. When you see the tables in the program it isn't quite that simple, but the help function and examples I remember seeing were helpful (I looked at the package in 08, so my memory might be a bit off). Unfortunately, there wasn't much diesel specific info. That has probably changed. |

Well...like I thought the learing curve is pretty big. But so far it is kinda fun. The first tune I made for mine was conseritive to say the least...but I am getting the hang of it.
