I bought a used SCT Tuner last year and it was unmarried with 1 unlock left on it. I got it cheap and thought it would be perfect because I only need it to tune my truck. It worked great from the start but I recently hooked it up to my computer to update the software in it. (I returned my truck to stock like it says before starting the updates.) After the update finished I went back out to my truck and it says that it is unmarried with 0 unlocks left on it and I can't tune my truck. I called SCT and he asked me to hook it up and see if it picked up my VIN because he said that sometimes there isn't a VIN embedded and they have to make a file for me to use. The VIN was there and showed up each time. The guy kept asking if I had lent it to a friend or used it on a different vehicle but I haven't and I'm sure he thinks I have. He said all he knew to do is send it in and pay $60 for them to reset it...
Should I call back and keep complaining until they agree that it wasn't my fault and fix it for free or am I going to have to bite the bullet on this and pay them?
