Stepped over to the dark side and got a SCT X3... But...

OK... I was quite happy with the canned Edge Evolution tunes (particularly the Performance tune), but being the (old) freak that I am, and seeing as I now have ARP studs... I went ahead and got the X3 and tunes from Tadd at Elite. As I said, I was impressed and happy with the Edge. The SCT installed easliy enough, but finding the documentation at SCT's site was a tad convoluted. I guess I'm used to clicking on a Support/Downloads menu and expect to find user manual since one doesn't ship with the tuner... Just a minor nit. The canned SCT Street tune is ok, but my butt-o-meter awards the canned tune win to the Edge.

I bet all the SCT zealots are just chompin' at the bits right now...

I just installed Tadd's tunes and loaded the High Power tune... And I just took the truck out for a quick spin... Did I say quick?!?!?!

Yee-Haa! Dayum!! Whoo-Hoo!!! And Holy Mother of Jesus!!!! I think that I've unleashed a beast!

So all you SCT zealots can step away from the keyboards, as I've been assimilated... Yeah, I know that resistance is futile.

I'm keepin' the Edge for the gauges, 'cuz I like the way they look and integrate with the dash.

And I won't be trying the Insanity tune until AFTER my traffic court appearance tomorrow for a minor speeding infraction on the bike...

The canned performance tune is faster then the street tune. But nothing like the custom tunes.

K... This is one that I need to be careful with... Due to some er... ah... traffic infraction issues on the bike I have to be a good do-bee. And this tune is NOT for good do-bees!!! Normally I'm able to restrain myself, but this last year seems to indicate something different. SO I gotta be good (at least through the end of March)...

As for the insanity tune... Yee Ha!!! The freeway ramps just got real short and the swear that the distance between traffic lights has shrunk.

I'm how shall I say this... An older guy and the other night when I had the Insanity tune loaded, acted like pimply faced teen when some kid in a Dodge Dakota R/T kept taunting me to ah... well... um... race??? Once the tires finally hooked up I could see him in my rear view mirror coming out of the cloud of diesel/tire smoke... I'm not sure why he didn't pull up next to me at the next light... I think he figured... old guy in a big ol' stock looking HEAVY 3/4 ton P/U wouldn't stand a chance with his hot rodded little gasser... I guess this ol' dog taught him a few tricks! So until I get over the novelty of gobs of torque and power, I'll keep the Insanity tune for when I grow up a bit more...

hahahahahahahahaha
welcome to the darkside brother !!

now wait until you get a FASS to keep up with those injectors, make sure you monitor fuel pressure because a HOT SCT file and upgraded injectors will max out your pump and drop the fuel pressure to zero. i know this. and the injectors will literally hammer themselves to pieces if you run them like that.

what size are your injectors (in mm ?)
