SCT SF3 Canned Tunes
I recently purchased an SCT SF3 for my 03 6.0. I am waiting on the custom tunes to come back so I am running canned tunese right now. Whether the tune is performance or street once i hit about 3K rpm it feels almost like I am hitting the rev limiter. If i just stop on the pedal it still feels like something is missing or bogey. Has anyone else ran into this?
![]() the only performance I have done is a straight piped exhaust |

First of all, nice name.
The rev-limit on the SCT might be at that rpm. You can adjust that in the settings.

That was my first thought, I checked that and it was set at 4 so I changed it to 4.5 and maybe that helped not really sure. I bought the truck used so I am assuming the axle ratio is stock but I am completely stumped whats going on and SCT tech support sucks

How's the health of your HPOP? In stock tune, what is the max ICP psi you are seeing?

The truck will take some time to adjust to the new settings. Just give it some time and don't hammer on it for a while. Drive conservatively for a day or so, the computer and trans will relearn and you should be fine.

High Pressure Oil Pump, a weak or leaking HPOP will also cause low or limited upper end power.
Most OBDII monitors will show ICP psi readings. Sent from AutoGuide.com App |

Not sure if SF3 lets you read any ICP readings.
When running any tune, your truck will show its weak points that weren't noticed in stock tune. Some tune writers (not sure about the canned tunes) fool the ICP psi in order to get more power out of the truck. The fooled ICP parameter will show up on a OBDII monitor as being low because that is what the tune in letting the PCM see. This is why I said to check it in stock tune. You can check the HPOP health when running a tune in the PCM, but you will need to monitor the ICPv reading and convert the ICPv to ICP psi. The tune writers don't show a false ICPv thru the OBDII, so the ICPv will always be true. There is another way to read true ICP psi, you either have to have a analog gauge or DashBoss ICP Calc PID.
