1 SCT for two trucks

My friend and I both like the idea of the SCT SF3 tuner. I have a 2004 6.0L and he has a '97 7.3L. Can we buy one unit and use it between us on both our trucks. I plan on getting the shop that I buy it off of to send out for a custom map, (I don't know what my friend wants to do yet).

No a SCT device is only for one truck at a time. Basically, in order for your buddy to use it, you would have to return your truck back to stock in order for him to tune his truck and vice versa.

First off be carful swapping back and forth - you only have 5 unlocks available before you have to send it back to SCT for a refresh, I think its 150 bux for that. Everytime the unit sees a different VIN it uses up an unlock.

Second I am not sure SCT can program a 97 7.3L - IMO you want the SCT and he would want to invest in a TW chip for his with 6 positions.
