Boost with Looney Tune

Hey guys i've been driving with the looney tune on my truck for a couple weeks now and i was wondering what boost i should be seeing.

I see 22-23 max any time. I remember that stock would go higher. I thought maybe my factory gauge was being tricked by the tune but my mechanical gauge i installed last night reads the same.

Also my boost surges 1-3psi quickly on WOT and 3/4 throttle.(i think i need an oil change though so that may fix itself or ill but a new VGT valve on)

truck is all stock except tune.

Mine is the same .... Beauty of tuning I guess, more power with less boost. However on the hwy with the TC locked and accelerating from 50-75 it will make 30psi.

Yours sounds like it is normal.

30-36 is average on my stock 03.

something is wrong... You should be seeing 26-28 easily while in high rpm's and 30-35 psi if your T/C is locked and you roll into the throttle not allowing it to downshift.

Mine definitely doesn't make anything over 23psi. But will make 30+ with Tc locked. Stock tune makes 26 in my truck WOT

Tell your tuner the issues/concerns you guys are having.
I also noticed both of you have 05's... There have been talks/ new info about the 2005 trucks being weird (red headed trucks lol)

some surge, some won't build boost, some run perfetly fine like mine...
Both of your trucks seem to be in the underboost category but you might have never put thought into it... huh.
Get in touch with your tuner and explain what you see and ill post up some links of related threads where we are trying to gather info on 2005 trucks... please post up in there what your seeing.

On my truck then it would indicate a problem with the tune? Stock it makes 25-26psi WOT - Looney it makes 20-22psi WOT (I couldnt get it past 20 just now but have seen 22 before) but will make 30 with TC locked and rolling into it on the highway (as it should).

Or is it a bad signal to the CTS monitor from the truck?

I dont have any surging and this is a stock turbo with stock injectors.

It is most likely just the tune... It can't be the CTS as you said yourself that the stock tune will go up to 26ish...
Talk to the tuner.

Well I was wondering if it is something the tuner is messing with - they **** with all kinds of things to 'trick' the truck. IPR is a classic example. So I wasnt sure if they are trying to send some faulty MAF readings or something.

I might be wrong but I thought I read somewhere on here awhile back that when our trucks are tuned the gauges will be off by about 5psi. There was something with the tunning that caused this.
