I don't know on yours, but I got rid of my muffler and never had a cat on my 7.3L. It's not tons louder than it was with the aftermarket muffler, but I can really hear the turbo now. It is working for me until I decide to give up the cash for a 4 or 5" system. On yours...I don't see why it would be way better straight piped than it is from the factory.

What you want is the AFE cat delete. It fits the OEM flange perfect. We sell and install them everyday. The MBRP cat delete fits the MBRP flanges and doesnt work on OEM very well.

This would be the 409 SS cat delete.
Discount Power Parts

This would be the Aluminized version.
Discount Power Parts

We also have a great sale going on with exhaust.

I have an early 99 i cut the cat and muffler right off and tossed a piece of piping in 3.5" ought to do it. Turbo sounds great, definitely more throaty, sounds great all together. But im going to be putting a 4" turbo back FBD system on soon, sometimes it sucks have friends who have the same truck as you and are always 1 step ahead, keeps me working for my money....good luck
