Livewire help
Ok I got my livewire the other day and finally had a chance to load my tunes. I downloaded the drivers from sct website but when I plug the livewire into the computer it does not recognize the unit and wont let me load the tunes. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am going to call sct on Monday to see if they can help. Btw the canned tunes are preety sweet though.

I was having the same problem with mine...did you download the "Livewire Updater Software" and "Livewire Windows Drivers"??? I extracted the drivers to a generic directory on my harddrive then loaded up the updater. When windows asked for the driver location after I plugged the livewire in, I sent it to the generic directory. HAven't had any problems since.
I don't have any custom tunes yet, but I think you need to update the firmware from SCT Flash Devices - MORE Power . . . Period! and the updater program will allow you to load up the custom tunes. I only did all of this yesterday, so I'm still a NEWB when it comes to the livewire. Put my truck on Performance Tune and it unleashed the beast! |

not to hijack the thread....but livewire vs the xcal, why did you go with the livewire? I saw in another thread that there was a writeup about it, but couldnt find it.
Keep us posted on the resolution, that way I dont have to post when/if I get a livewire! |

I liked the livewire for the ability to monitor the engine vitals and hold tunes all in one. Also I can take the unit out for a completly stock look ( no gauges on the pillar). So far it has been good I just need to get my tunes off the dang computer!

I created an "SCT" directory on my C-drive and ran everything from there. All, but the firmware update file from SCT will be zip'd, so extract them to a common SCT folder.
Time to go out and drill the manifold for the EGT probe. |
