Re: help me build a FICM...

I took my truck to a shop and they hooked a scanner to it and said it pulled a "U" code and that i had the wrong ficm. Could that be from having a mix matched ficm like a 4 pin power supply match with a 7 pin logic board or 7 pin power supply matched with a 4 pin logic board?

According to Ed at ficm repair.com that the U1106??? (maybe remembering that wrong) anyway the U1106 code Incompatibility with ficm is nothing to worry about. I now have that after putting the 7 pin in place of the old 4 pin.

YOU CANNOT MIX AND MATCH HALF SHELLS FROM A 4 PIN TO A 7 PIN FICM.

I just said this a couple posts up.

They will not go together.

4 PIN.

7 PiN will have 7 holes and 7 screws where you see the 4 at above. They are incompatible.

Almost anytime you install a FICM in the truck that has not been flashed specifically to that truck it will set that code.

It will not affect drivability or overall performance of the vehicle.
