gut the cat

I have an 04 ford with the 6.0, i have cut the muffler of and just added a pipe. My question is i am thinking about gutting my cat for the purpose of warranty i want the cat visible will that have any problems on the truck, will my back pressure be ok with the cat gutted and a muffler delete? i would go with a turbo back exhaust but because of money i cant so i need to know if anyone has had the problem with the back pressure scare?

I'm turbo back, no muffler and no cat. I cut the bolts down on my cat so for inspection purposes it takes a matter of couple minutes to put back on. No back pressure issues at all.

I deleted my cat completely - no inspection laws here in OK - and I have not had any backpressure issues either.
I like it!

Will the turbo still cycle like it is suppose to or will it whine constantly?

I suggest you keep the cat intact. Get a cat delete pipe. I say this because the cost of replacing the cat is alot of money. It is much cheaper to keep the cat in full use condition that way if you ever need to put it back on you will have a fully working cat. I am sure others will aggree with me on this.

$50 for a delete pipe is way cheaper than buying a new cat. Just because the shell is still present doesn't mean that it will protect your warranty. Like Rodslinger said, it only takes a few minutes to swap out the cat and the pipe.
