SCT??

Ok guys here goes... I just recently purchased on 05 Super with the 6.0 with the SCT tuner in it. Being that this is my first diesel I am not really sure on what I should do, the guy before me kinda showed me how to program it a little bit, he has it on a "street" setting. But i keep reading you guys talking about getting different tunes from DJ's and other places, now I don't mean to sound like a dumbass, but are these places websites where you can buy custom tunes that are better than what I have on my tuner already?? I tow a 14' enclose work trailer so I don't need WAY to much power as I have already learned that my head gaskets are leaking a little bit. But i would however like to get as much SAFE power as I could out of it. Also the truck has a full RBP exhaust kit on it... Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys...

Get ready to spend a little money if your headgaskets are leaking a little. Might want to do a search and start reading about what you have to look forward to.

Man, that sounds depressing, sorry. Welcome to the board btw.

How many miles are on it? You should still be under warranty. You're gonna want to take the sct off b4 you go to the dealer or else you'll be footin the bill for new gaskets.

Ya i only have 46,000 on the truck, and i will be taking the SCT off before i go to the dealer. I was told that SCT is the only tuner that the dealership can't tell that it was installed unless the engine blew up. My local Ford dealer really sucks and won't even look at a truck with a lift on it, but there is a dealer about 15 minutes away that I have heard won't mind the lift. Anybody know if the SCT will give me problems at the dealer??

It shouldn't as long as they don't dig to deep for it. Just put it back to stock and drive it for about 200 miles then take it in some other guys say to unplug the bats but I never do. Good luck with everything!!

Here are the two most people use. I would recommend calling either one to get more info. Websites are good but actual people are better.

I got mine from Innovative and they are awesome!! Do u have the SCT with the canned tunes? And yes they will email them to you and you download them. Then you open LiveLoad (you can download it from SCT website) upload the tunes to your programmer. But if you have the canned tunes you have to erase the whole device button at the bottem left so you can upload customs into it any ? you can PM me or whoever you get the tunes from should hook up you with instructions.
