sct tuner livewire

SCT sounds impressive. wondering if there is any built in safeguards for tranny, turbo , egt. And if safeguards are important to me if banks or edge would be a better product

If its on the 6.0 the SCT is the ONLY tuner to get. there isnt defueling or anything like that but you can set points for alerts to come on. I have the livewire, and would never go back to banks. Not saying its a bad product its just nothing compaired to the SCT.

Not sure about the canned tunes, but with custom tunes you can have any safeguards installed that you like. Custom tuning allows for stronger safer shifts, governors how much boost you are putting out (I see less boost on my Race tune than stock), the options are limitless.

The biggest thing is getting a good reputable tuner to write the files for you. I would say call or email Innovative Diesel.

Majority of people on here will recommend a SCT, next biggest decision is who to write your tunes.

whats the ballpark price on custom tunes and are safety settings than comparable with banks or edge

Tune prices vary (usually 60 - 100)...the higher end for the "big" power files.

Check out Billet Speed - Innovative Diesel Re-director

Eric has his prices on there, I believe he can work out package deals if you want multiple files.

I have not run Banks or Edge, but from what I have heard on here, those two and Predator were "cool", but then the SCT came along and blew them away. One of the biggest diferences I have heard is the others don't do much if anything for the tranny, except break 'em. Now, like I said, I haven't ran the others, this is gathered from the opions on here.
