Edge Evolution Question

Hello again, I am thinking about buying an Edge Evolution EEF2200 Programmer, used, from some one. Have any of you used one of these? Would any one recomend it?

most people will recommend the sct xcal2. duh. I've heard good things about the evolution, however.

If its for the 6.0 then i would say SCT. That seems to be the programmer of choice for the 6.0. If its the 7.3 then the Edge is a good one. I have the evo 1 on my truck and it works fine, good power gains, but i haven't noticed any better mpg and i'm not hard on it. Hope this helps.

My father has an edge evolution on his truck and he loves it. He has an 01 cc Long bed with the 6 spd. On the tow setting he gets 21 mpg on the highway and about 13mpg with an 18,000 lb 20ft trailer.

hey lords, does your father leave it in tow mode when he's empty? Just curious cause i can only seems to pull around 16 to maybe 17. Does he have any other mods? I only have an exhaust, i want to get the intake though.

Yes, he leaves it in the tow mode all the time, mainly because I put it on there and I don't think he knows how to change it. All he has is a k&n replacement filter and a stock straight piped exhaust. We live in the middle of a desert and the k&n filter has never let any dust in, so i don't understand what all the fuss is about. We have put that filter through heck and so far it has worked great.

I have the evolution on my 6.0 and love it. Best fuel economy I have experience was driving from TX to PA and got 18.3 on the tow safe program. I am currently running the extreme tune as a daily driver because the egt's are lower than the other tunes (when your not getting on it) and I get 2 mpgs better fuel economy.

Well i might have to try running extreme mode, but i am just afraid i'm gonna dynamite my trans and i don't have the cash for a new one.
