Loading custom tunes question

so I got my custom tunes from innovative diesel emailed to me today. I have been running a canned tune from my LiveWire. So my question is, is it necessary to return to stock before installing custom tunes onto the LiveWire device? also is it going to be self-explanatory to get the tunes from the email into the device? Your help is greatly appreciated
Thanks Brent

It's always a good idea to return to stock when making any changes.

Yea the sct updater will pretty much walk you thru it.

Cool, I'll return to stock before hand then. Is it also a good idea to save stock file in the SCT updater? Thought I saw an option to do that last time I had it opened.
