I got my gauges installed and my xcal2 installed and my truck now officially hauls! But I have some concerns. I read that the egt shouldnt run higher than about 1400. Mine hits 1600 on a good stomp. Is that too high and if it is how can I get it lower. Also, my boost is hitting about 17-20 psi when I stomp on it. Does this sound right or what? I dont want to mess anything up so if yall could let me know what yall are readin or what some norms are!

1600 is high... You can hit 1600 but don't keep it there. few seconds you should be ok. as for boost that seems low. I'd check for boost leaks.

Yeah, the top is 1250-1300. Do not go over that for more than about 5 seconds or so. If you do not have an exhaust yet, get one. It will help cool things down. Boost I think should be a little higher, but that may come with an exhaust as well.

Yah, definately don't keep the EGT's that high for long -- just like JW said -- a few seconds is okay


and he's right on with the boost -- which maybe that is why your EGT's are so high?

Ill Check for leaks. What is a good exhaust system that is cheap? I am a poor college kid!

boost should be around 25 psi

I reran my boost line and now I am hittin between 22 and 25 on the boost when I floor it but my egt's are still hittin 1600 granted it seems like it takes a little longer to get there. Next Im gonna do the zoodad and see how far down that gets me and after that I will look into exhaust! Thanks for the help!

I did the zoodad mod and it dropped my egts down to about 1400. i want to run my truck at the track this weekend but I dont want to hurt it. Will it be okay for a quarter mile run or should I wait until I get the egts down lower?
