Gas Mileage Mods....and Howdy!

Howdy Y'all,

I've got an '04 with the 6.0 liter. Current mods are simple AFE Magnum Farce intake and I'm not sure about the exhaust, the PO had it installed.

What can I do to increase my mileage? I do alot of in town driving and some highway (over 70) for long periods of time. My overhead reads 15.5 almost always. Can I reset it? or is it constant?

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I dont have one in my truck be lots of people say the milage display isn't the most accurate. Try calculating by hand to see what you get. The easiest way to increase milage is running a hot tune and driving normally.

its fairly accurate -- mine is within 1 MPG either way..

but, calculating by hand and always filling up to the filler neck will get you the most accurate result (because all pumps click off and different spots, etc.)

although it will take forever to fill your tank all the way to the cap

but you can reset it -- just hold down both buttons for a second or two and it will reset the mileage. Sounds like that is the average mileage of all the driving you've done, which isn't too bad

hope this helps!

oh, and some say a chip/tuner will increase your mileage if you can keep your foot out of it

Reset the Gas mileage on the overhead. Got 17.1 in town tonight by keeping it below 2k all day.

Nice....
