Preformance upgrades what to do, need some advice

Hi,

So we got a 2005 f250 its a crew cab short bed, has 4x4, it is in the shop at the moment.

my goal is to get close to 700hp if not more, and would like to see 900tq+

The truck is in gettin head studs, egr delete, and all 8 injectors

What numbers can i put up with stock injectors
what numbers will powermax turbo put up on stock injectors
will it be better to upgrade the injectors with the powermax
would a fass system be something to put in there as well
will i need my tq converter done
i had a new trans put in at 85,000miles
truck has 101,000
im gonna get the innovative tunes as well

dont know if i should get the powermax and keep the stock injectors and be fine

For 700+hp?

A Powermax won't get you there...even with upgraded injectors. You'd be looking at HUGE amounts of modding to get anywhere close to there (injectors, turbo, tranny, fuel system, tuning, etc.)

Big bucks...

I had about $20k in my '03 and i might have been close to 500. I had 99% of the supporting mods that would get you to 700. Big arse injectors, the right turbo, and some water/meth and I would have been close to 700. I would say that $25k-$30k will get you there. Also that new trans that you have, if its not BTS, Suncoast, etc you can kiss it goodbye.

Forgot to add this part. The big money that you will have to spend won't be making 700 rwhp it will be in making the truck last at 700 rwhp. You can make 700 easy and fairly cheap, for maybe one run.

Yeah, you'd need to upgrade pretty much everything on your rig to get the performance/reliability you need to make/support 700+.

What you need to do is set a more realistic goal at first (say 400hp) and then build up from there as time and the pockets permit.

I know where a BTS 5r100 has been behind a 700+ rwhp 6.0 for 2 1/2 years without missing a beat. The guy drag races it every weekend.

Its still uses the stock turbine side so its still going to only get you so far. I have a hard time seeing that thing break 600, with enough fuel maybe, but thats a smokey rig in the making.

This is highly inaccurate. The 5R behind a 6.0 holds just fine when built by the right person. There are 800hp+ trucks running the 5R still and no issues. The 4R isnt the only solution.

for 700 on fuel you're going to need at least a trans before long, minimum 225's and compounds or a larger single, and a deep wallet.
