EGR delete or EGR cooler

I have 06 f250. Im wanting to do the whole bullet proofing, wondering if I should just delete the EGR or buy the upgraded EGR cooler? WIll deleting throw a code? Going to do ARP head studs, black onyx head gaskets, new oil cooler and oil screen. Also wanting to get a programmer, which is best for my truck? Already have 4'' turbo back exhaust.

Deleting will throw a code. As far as a programmer use sct with custom tunes. You can have the egr turned off with the custom tunes if you delete it. If you replace the cooler go with bulletproof diesels. Also use oem gaskets and replace the dummy plugs and stand pipes while you are there. You will need to get a monitor to watch the engine vitals. A coolant filter will also help out well.

EGR delete won't pass emissions testing but if you arn't worried about that, delete it
If you delete it can never fail...
