CNG injection?
I have read some people have put cng (compressed natural gas) injection kits on their diesel cars and trucks. Is this a complete switch over to run on straight cng or injecting it with the diesel so you can save some fuel. Cng is pretty cheap in the midwest but the setup costs to run it are very expensive if you buy a kit. Plus there arent many fillup stations and it costs a couple thousand for a compressor setup to fill your own tanks. If someone has experience or knows anything about this your input would be greatly appreciated.

It's an add on kit, sorta like nitrous on cars.

Im not sure if there would be a performance gain as much as gaining mpg's. Which is part of the reason im looking into it

What I actually meant was that it is an additional fuel not primary source.

There is a gas drilling company in my area who runs the CNG kit's on their 6.4 trucks.

I cant remember who made the conversion kits. Or if they were something specifically made for 6.0's or just a one fits all kit. I just wanted to see if anyone had used them or knew of a good place to see how much it would cost to setup to run it

A lot space yes, but at 130 MPG I'll be buying more trailers!! (I'm assuming that means 130 miles per gallon of diesel, not per gallon of the combination.)
One additional thought that may be important. How much for the gas in those tanks??? k |
