Have Edge want sct

So I have an Edge Platinum Juice w/Attitude CS on my 04 F350. I would like to get an SCT baaed on all that I've read, its the way to go on our trucks. I have a couple of questions though. I want to keep my cs for monitoring. Can I set the Edge to 0 and use it the same as an insight? I don't want to buy an insight if I can use my juice. I have read where some have done this without a problem where others say not to do it and buy an insight. Not sure what to do here.
On the SCT, I see they hold three tunes. Is stock also saved on the unit? Is buying a used unit a bad idea? If it is unlocked, can it be basically reset like it is a new clean slate, ready to install tunes of your choice?

I don't know about setting Edge to 0.

Most SCT devices will hold 3 custom tunes, some models will hold custom and canned tunes. The newest model Livewire TS will hold 10 custom tunes. ALL SCT devices will hold your stock tune, you can even save a copy of the stock tune to a PC.

it's been reported that the edge on 0 still has an effect
if I recall I even asked edge directly for confirmation

I was in the same situation back in September. But after reading about possible problems say if you or someone else accidentally changes the tune while you have a tune loaded from your SCT you can cause BIG problems. The change on the fly can work against you if you bump the wrong button, also you still have to leave the module under your hood and i found several corroded pins that had caused false CEL's. To answer your question yes you can but no you shouldn't. I had to swallow my pride sell my $900.00 edge for $300. and bought the insight and SCT . I know this way i wont have an accident. My only regret is that i bought the SCT that had 3 preprogrammed tunes on it. If i could do it again i would buy the sct w/o any tunes on it and that way i could have had 6 custom tunes loaded on it at once.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will call Edge and ask them a few questions. I am probably just going to bite the bullet and buy an insight. If I'm not mistaken, the insight requires a different egt probe.

IMO the new livewire TS is the way to go. Holds 10 tunes like stated and acts as a monitor. Plus if you look around you can find good pricing. I got my from Innovative Diesel.
