where to get Vivian tunes??
Well, just got the bad news that my head gasket is most likely blown, I will be rigging up a pressure gauge to check,
![]() but this is a performance forum so on to my real question...I have seen all this talk about Vivian's looney tune and other tunes and havent found where to buy them, i want to get an SCT x3 with 3 of vivian's tunes loaded on it but don't know how to do that. Help please. I have an '06 6.0 with a manual tranny that is currently stock but i will be getting an EGR delete, oil cooler, etc., etc. I have read a whole lot on this forum and found a local shop where the owner has a 6.0 that he has studded and modified heavily and he prefers Innovative Diesel. Anyway, what I am trying to find out is should i go with the Looney Tunes, my goal is to have a towing tune, a fuel economy tune, and a tune for performance but i never plan on upgrading turbo or anything so a moderate performance tune is all im interested it. thanks Powerstroke aficionados for your help |

You'll find a lot of people are getting the best fuel mileage running hotter tunes as long as you can keep your foot out of it. I know vivians site doesn't list it but request looney fuel, I have seen the best gains out of it. Every truck is different though. For a tow tune check out tony wildmans tunes. i dont tow a whole lot, but im in the mountains, so i dont want to run a hot tune even pulling a 5000 pound camper through a mountain pass. my primary concern is fuel economy and reliability. I'm thinking looney tune, looney fuel, and their towing tune. thanks for the info.

Is anyone running a SCT ITSX? thoughts? i like the idea of having the ability to monitor my trucks vitals without paying for an Insight or a Livewire TS.

Im pretty sure the Livewire TS is cheaper and i'm SURE it is a better option for a tuner/ monitor for our trucks

No, the livewire costs more. 600 versus 469 for the TSX

huh...... Interesting.
Im going on a quest to find out for myself lol Ohh...... I see what your looking at. In that case its even worse! IMHO why would I pay $500 for a device that HAS to use my phone... what if I forget it at home, dont feel like using it as a monitor, the phone breaks for a couple days, and I have to use it as a gauge all the time. ![]() I myself like to get something that does it's job, and doesn't make phone calls and wipe my butt at the same time ![]() I mean there are so many "what if's" many that I didn't even list that can go wrong that make me feel that a tuner/ monitor for a vehicle should be it's own seperate unit from a phone ![]() JMO Last edited by Six0~Stroker; 12-04-2012 at 11:02 AM. |
