Atlas 40 tune worth it?

Just wondering if it would be worth upgrading to the Atlas 40 FICM tune on my '03? I don't plan on adding a tuner any time soon. I would be looking for some better MPG, and to help the BAD turbo lag on my truck.

worth every penny. Throttle response is excellent. Not sure about the mileage, but the driveability is much improved.

Given how the EGR system works on these, tuning alone won't help as much as deleting the EGR cooler. Deleting the EGR cooler did wonders for my throttle response. Don't throw away the EGR valve until you know whether or not your stategy needs it for proper VGT cycling. The increased throttle response from my IDP FICM tune was nice, but not near as big as deleting the EGR cooler.

I have the PHP tuner- I lie the 80hp tune for unloaded daily drivin, and the 40 for towing. The throttle response is signicantly impacted for the better. I use my tuner as a gauge suite as well. The edge 98600 'legacy' 4 wire thermocouple plugs into the harness, and voila I'm monitoring EGTs now. The truck was a lethargic pig before... You know, to be honest I don't use all 80 extra HP on that setting, I just like the reduced throttle movement... If that makes sense..
