2003 6.0l new problem! come one come all!

1) Ok got this one in yesterday.
2) They where driving at 60mph and bam shut off.
3) This truck had 3 issues!

To start of i checked for codes and had none? scratching head!! oil was 6 quarts low!! checked with ids and had no voltage at icp at all and ipr was at 85 % cranking and 0 psi on icp sensor. ficm sync and sync where good. rpms good! GO AT IT GUYS! ILL GIVE YOU WHAT I FOUND AS YOU FIGURE IT OUT STEP BY STEP!!

My first question would be where did the oil go, and how long has it been since its been changed/checked. Not that I think dirty oil could cause all this, but to be 6 quarts low, they either haven't checked it in a long time, or theres a fast leak somewhere. Im still new to the diagnostic world of 6.0's, but I would assume (there's that dangerous word), that there's a problem with the hpop circuit, like a leak perhaps bleeding off pressure, or perhaps a problem with the low pressure side? As for the ipr and icp stuff, I don't know...still nee to that realm of diagnostics. I'm all ears on this though, I like learning bout this stuff.

question from rookie, if the IPR is at 85% does that mean there is no voltage to it also?

Id wondered about a shorted harness, or oil soaked harness, but I diubt thats a common problem, who knows though.

Dude that's easy... low tire pressure! When they rotated the air in the tires they refilled it to the wrong specs! Turbo was overworked causing the seal to fail and out went the oil. Lol...

Low on oil so the oil pick up tube wasn't picking up oil. Ipr working full throttle to compensate. No oil=no injectors=no running motor. low oil cause: idiot oil change compounded by icp oil leak.

badly leaking icp like every 03 and an oil soaked pigtail harness.I'm guessing it shut off due to lack of oil or bad icp/harness.

too much or not enough icp at crank. if you unplugged the icp, did it start? pig tail covered in oil?


if it was 6 qts low, the oil res for the hpop must be empty and not building icp.
