Different Strategy # after reflash

So I had my truck reflashed today hoping to fix my cold start problem. Before I took it in I returned my SCT X3 back to stock. After I picked up my truck I was going to reinstall a tune and something told me to check my strategy and sure enough the number is different. Is this normal? I just dont want to screw up anything. Thanks for any input

Dang thats what I was afraid of. I honestly didn't even think about a reflash changing my strategy. I thought returning to stock was all I needed to do.

Uhm what part of getting reflashed means loading a new updated strategy didn't you understand? Odd are your old tunes will work fine. They will overwrite most of the newly installed strategy. You will often find that tuners use the strategy they think works best with your truck or that they are most comfortable with and not necessarily the strategy you currently have on the truck. For example Matt Robinson at Gearhead bases all of his tunes for the 05-07 6.0 off of the VXCF9 strategy regardless of what is currently on your truck. Chris B. at TSD prefers VXCF4.

What can I say? Had a brain fart. I think I'll just get in touch with Innovative tomorrow and make sure everything is good to go. Thanks for the input though. I've read plenty of your post and your input is always top notch.

you are fine, i've never had a tune that was built for the strategy that was previously in my truck. Load up and youre good to go.

Vivian swears by the vxp1, (what's in my truck) but then I read its one of the worst ones to have.
Then on the other hand I read so little of the strategy is used in a custom tune these days it dosnt matter and sct custom tunes will work with many different strategys without rewriting the tunes.

So I have no idea what's true, I wish I did know!
